Yesterday my little Birdie and her friend Lucy had the grand idea of a water balloon fight. I really had no excuse not to help them, so I figured “why not?” The hot summer weather was basically begging for something that involved water and fun, so we proceeded along and got the supplies ready in an assembly line in the kitchen. Birdie picked out the balloons, Lucy filled them up and I got to tie them into a neat little knot (on another note, tying balloon knots is for the birds). Finally, after filling the balloons for what felt like forever–these girls wanted A LOT of balloons–we were ready! LET’S DO THIS!
Looking innocent enough and ready…this was about 1 minute into the fight. I made them stop and take a pic to capture the moment before it got into a balloon and water extravaganza! Aren’t the cute?!
This picture below just melts my heart. Two adorable girls vying for one of the last balloons in the midst of non-stop laughter. Summer sweetness.
At this point my Birdie decided it was fun to put balloons in her mouth to see if they’d pop…
And they did indeed pop!
Lucy’s turn…yep, popped again!
Yesterday was a good day…I felt like we experienced one of those moments of what Summer is all about! Hope you’re having a wonderful and adventurous summer.
